About Me

More about my experience

I qualified in 1991 as a Speech language Therapist and an Audiologist from the University of Pretoria with a bachelors degree in Logopaedics (now known as Communication Pathology).

Initially I worked at a centre for young people with severe global developmental disorders and later joined a Neuro Rehab team working mostly with adults who had experienced traumatic brain injuries or strokes.

When my own children came along I started working part time in private practice with pre-schoolers and school aged children. After moving to New Zealand, I worked for the Ministry of Education for a number of years and have been in Private Practise for the last 5 years. I like to keep up to date with new developments in the field by attending conferences and reading up constantly about different approaches to treatment. A few years ago, I had the privilege of designing the content of an app for Speech therapists. When I came across Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment, I finally found a programme that addresses the cognitive skills that children need for learning in a systematic manner.
